Tactically Responsive Space
Firefly’s Alpha rocket is designed to support on-demand deliveries of critical assets in space when and where our customers need them. Firefly broke the industry record after successfully launching the U.S. Space Force VICTUS NOX tactically responsive space (TacRS) mission with just 24-hour notice. Firefly is now on contract to support two more U.S. Space Force TacRS missions, and the team continues to streamline its rapid launch operations as part of each Alpha flight.
Deployable Launch System
Firefly’s deployable launch system provides the ability to launch Firefly’s Alpha rocket from any location with as little as seven-day notice. The system is optimally sized for standard transportation methods while still enabling Alpha to launch 1,000 kg to low Earth orbit. Mobile payload processing equipment and streamlined operations enable Firefly to launch from remote locations in under two days after the mobile equipment arrives on site. Once the equipment is set up, Firefly can support a seven-day repeatable launch cadence, depending on customer needs.

Firefly also launches from a growing number of domestic and international spaceports, including the Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB) in California and new launch capabilities coming soon at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS) on Wallops Island, Virginia, and at the Esrange Space Center in Sweden. Firefly’s commercially-operated Payload Processing Facility at the VSFB is equipped with a storage area, control room, airlock, and ISO 8 cleanroom to accommodate storage, fueling, and checkouts of CubeSats, SmallSats, and hypergolic spacecraft prior to final encapsulation.
